Rechargeable Technology

Rechargeable Hearing Aid Options Get Patients Charged Up

What do these three things have in common: cell phones, laptops and Phonak Belong™ hearing aids? Yes, they all have high-end technology, but they’re also rechargeable!

With the introduction of Naída™ B-R RIC and Sky™ B-PR hearing aids — and the soon-to-be-released CROS B-R — these rechargeable options join the Audéo™ B-R and Bolero™ B-PR in the recently complete Belong platform.

“With Phonak rechargeable hearings aids, you are able to offer your patients a convenient and reliable hearing solution no matter their age or degree of hearing loss without compromise,” said Abigail Poyser, Phonak Product Manager, Marketing.

Just Like Any Piece of Tech

Poyser said that patients can treat their rechargeable hearing aids like any piece of technology they have now. “You charge your cell phone every night, and now you’ll charge your hearing aid,” she added. “Consumers expect technology to all work the same way.”

Kailen Berry, Phonak Audiology Manager, said tying hearing solutions in to something commonplace like a cell phone will also help make rechargeable hearing aids more acceptable and comfortable for people.

Innovative Lithium-ion Technology

Designed to simplify life, Phonak rechargeable hearing aids free your clients from the hassles of disposable batteries.

“Our lithium-ion battery is trusted, well known and is the same technology found in other electronics.” — Abigail Poyser

“Our lithium-ion battery is trusted, well known and is the same technology found in other electronics,” said Poyser. “Plus, it is completely enclosed to prevent tampering with the battery.”

Patients can get a full day of hearing in about a 90-minute charge. In fact, the battery is tested to last up to 36* hours. This means you are providing your patients with support that is on par or even better than some of the other rechargeable electronics they use on a daily basis, added Berry.

Charge Time Gives Peace of Mind

“Our rechargeable hearing aids last through your patients’ full, long day,” said Poyser. “They can feel confident knowing they can go to a late dinner or attend an evening meeting and still be able to hear.”

In addition, parents and caregivers will know their child will be able to experience a language-rich day of activities with the pediatric rechargeable hearing aid, said Berry.

Time-saving for Hearing Care Professionals

Yes, Phonak rechargeable hearing aids will definitely save patients time as they won’t need to worry or fret about changing hearing aid batteries. However, did you know it will save hearing care professionals time, too?

“Now hearing care professionals can spend the extra time usually spent on battery instruction getting to know patients or doing additional testing to assess their needs.” — Kailen Berry, Phonak Audiology Manager

“Part of the appointment is spent showing patients how to change the batteries,” said Berry. “Now you can spend the extra time usually spent on battery instruction getting to know patients or doing additional testing to assess their needs.”

Smart Hearing Aid Charging Options

Phonak offers patients three charging options that support their lifestyles.

  • Phonak Charger Case: This all-in-one hard case charges, is a drying kit and protects the hearing aid from harm.
  • Phonak Power Pack: Ideal for short trips where no power source is available. It has seven full charges before it needs to be recharged, making it ideal for camping trips or bringing it when visiting family.
  • Phonak Mini Charger: It’s the most compact charging option. “It’s great for patients to keep in your car or at a summer home,” said Poyser.

Rechargeable: Icing on a Great Performing Hearing Aid

While the rechargeable feature might be the reason patients take the step toward wearing hearing aids, the main point is that they are getting an excellent hearing aid that will bring them closer to the beauty of sound.

“Our rechargeable hearing aids have the same great functions and fit as the others in their portfolios,” said Poyser. “Being rechargeable is icing on the cake.”
